Overview

Calendar is the Vala workspace for reviewing calendar context related to your work. A Client record also includes a Calendar tab.

When to use

Use Calendar when time-based context helps you plan or review work.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the correct organization
  • The appropriate Client or workflow context when applicable

Step-by-step

1

Open Calendar

Select Calendar from the global navigation.
2

Review the relevant context

Use the information available to your role and organization to identify the work you need to address.
3

Open the related record

Continue to the Client, Claim, Task, or other workspace that owns the underlying work.

From a Client record

The Calendar tab in a Client record is scoped to that Client. Use it to create and manage Meeting, Appointment, Deadline, Reminder, or Other events for that Client. When creating an event, enter the start and end time, then add the available location, description, and attendees. Calendar uses the time zone available to your profile or browser. Send invitations when that option is available. You can open an existing event later to edit or cancel it.

Best practices

  • Confirm the record and organization before acting on time-sensitive work.
  • Use the Client Calendar tab for client-specific context.
  • Follow your organization’s procedures for deadlines and reminders.

Common mistakes

  • Treating Calendar context as a substitute for the underlying record
  • Working from the wrong organization context
  • Assuming availability is the same for every role
